Does this require WooCommerce?

No. Standalone subscriptions, customer accounts, checkout, renewals, and content protection use WordPress core. WooCommerce is optional.

Are renewal charges automatic?

No. XRPay sends a reminder and the customer authorizes each renewal through Universal Checkout. The plugin never stores payment credentials.

Can it protect downloads?

It can protect WordPress page content, but a direct media-library file URL remains public. Sensitive downloads need private storage or a protected-download solution.
